How to use the spin bike

Leave a message

No.1 Upper body should remain stable

When stepping on the flywheel exercise spin bike, the upper body should take the core muscles as the main axis, take the thighs and hips as the centre of gravity, keep stable, and should not be skewed or twisted when stepping. This is scientifically proven to be the most effective way to get the strength out of your legs.

No.2 Bend your hands and back naturally

When pedalling the exercise bike for spin class, your back should be naturally bent forward, not stiff. If you keep your back in a bad posture, it may lead to low back pain in the long run. In addition, doing more low back stretching to increase flexibility and stability will help your performance on the bike. At the same time, your arms should be naturally bent when riding. Riding with stiff hands or shoulders may cause pain due to improper application of force on the wrist and elbow, and the arm posture will also affect the angle of the low back forward bending.

When cycling outdoors, some people may try to pay attention to the road ahead and lift their necks upwards, which may cause their shoulders and necks to exert too much force for too long, resulting in muscle tightness and soreness. You should relax your shoulders and neck, keep your viewpoint in front of the front wheel, and use the corner of your eyes to look at the road ahead.

No.3 Pedalling with the front foot

The foot should be placed in the correct position when pedalling a gym quality spin bike in order to achieve a complete and efficient output, which in turn increases the speed and stability of the bike. The correct way to do this is to place the largest area of the foot behind the toes on the inside of the pedals and pedal with the forefoot instead of the arch of the foot. In this way, the major muscles around the thigh can be used correctly. If you are wearing professional cycling shoes, the shoe can stabilise your feet on the pedals and prevent them from sliding.

    No.4 Keep circular motion

The pedalling movement will be in a circular motion. If the pedals are able to make an angle that is closer to a circle, the more efficient the pedalling will be. If you have a good movement, you will be able to use your energy efficiently in training, long-distance cycling or competitions in the future.
